New Tut, SB, Videos on 06.13.2010

Still working on my upcoming Flash game Straight Bullyism. If you like to play games online, then you'll love this game when it comes out! While working on a cutscene for SB, I recorded myself and posted another tutorial. A screenshot of a frame below, and a link below for the tutorial (and spoiler). Still need to work on the audio quality, but once I get that figured out I think tuts will be a good addition to the site...



I'm VERY close to finishing the first level of Straight Bullyism, which is obviously a huge milestone. I thought I'd have it done a month earlier, but it looks like it'll be done by the end of June. As I said before, the quality of the cutscenes get better and better throughout it, so I'm kind of disappointed that the intro cutscene isn't as hilarious as the boss cutscenes, but I guess it's still good. It isn't bad enough to steer you away from the game, but makes you not realize how awesome the game is later.

Since I got the tutorials page up, I'm also thinking of other videos to record. The more random content the better, right? I still play Starcraft Brood War - part of my dark nerd side along with this website - so here's a quick game I recorded. I'll probably post some epic game I play later, this was just the first I recorded. Also, no comp audio yet so I put some random songs in. Maybe better than the game's sfx?

SB Smoke Animation on 10.29.2009

In the last few days I've been pulling some hardcore work sessions on Straight Bullyism, soon I'll be 50% done the game! I figured I'd post this smoke animation that I did late last night and early this morning over like 4 hours. I consider smoke/explosion effects to be one of my animation specialties, and just as of today I found out how to effectively loop FBF smoke effects, so I might post a tutorial on that some time. Also, I've had a lot more motivation for SB lately, and once I get the first level or two done I can post a video preview.

I've finished a lot of the easy-to-animate sprites for the fights in Straight Bullyism, so now that I'm working on the hard, cool-looking ones I thought I'd show off the basic ones. They still took a LONG time to animate. Enjoy, and sorry if it's lagging your computer, whatever.

Little Wing and Purple Stain on 01.30.2009

[Stevie] I'm still trying to finish Little Wing by March 1st, and I'm currently 73% done. I think I can still finish it by that time, but now I have to go back to school, because I have recovered from having Mono for three weeks. Eugh. Anyway, we thought we'd post a little bit of animation that you probably haven't seen, the unfinished Purple Stain project that Isaiah never finished, and another preview of Little Wing.

[Isaiah] I started Purple Stain wanting to make a good animation to the song. Over time I lost all motivation toward the project and the animation suffered greatly. I constatly hated working on it, so now I have decided to trash the project. I'm working on another one now, we might put a preview for that soon.

So I'm like 55% done Little Wing, but I've been getting pretty good work hours in so it shouldn't be that long until it's done. I don't want to give away too much of the actual movie in the previews I'm showing, but I thought I'd post this tiny clip that I just made. I updated both of the previews and the work hours as well.



I might be doing a new game with Ansel as well, so I'll keep you updated on that as well, cuz this shit takes a long time to do.
